His character can be summed up by a Kobe Bryant quote, “I have nothing in common with lazy people who blame others for their lack of success. Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses”.

Mid 20’s. African-American. Jay’s younger sister. Smart, nice, stylish. A single mother. After reading a self-help book (The Secret), she manifested the life of her dreams. She lives in a condo with her son and has a six-figure salary. She has achieved great success thanks to her vision board, work ethic, and inspiration. Alicia works in sales.

10 years old. African-American. Alicia’s son. Jay’s nephew. He’s smart, nice, and stylish. He likes to hang out with his uncles and aunts. Zaire is into sports and video games. 

Late teens. African-American. Jay’s cousin. A natural comedian. He loves attention and is a great dancer. As an undergrad, Jay made a comedic rap video, and Frank loved it. He also likes to rap as a hobby and challenges Jay to a rap battle. 

Late 20’s. Jay’s God brother. He’s an outgoing Oakland native with Bay Area swag. Confident. Social. He grew up faster than Jay and had his first child at a young age. After coasting through high school, he ran the streets but didn’t get into any serious trouble. He sells mattresses and makes comparable money to a struggling Jay. Maybe even more.

Mid 20’s. African-American. Jay’s former love interest. They had a “situation-ship” that ended when Jay was afraid to commit. His attempts to rekindle the romance failed. Not an on-screen character.
